  • The Supreme State Security Prosecution is conducting investigations with journalists Moataz Wadnan and Abdelrahman al-Ansari in the case in which they are accused of joining a group founded contrary to the provisions of the law and publishing false news.

 

  • The Supreme State Security Prosecution is conducting investigations with lawyer Haitham Mohammadeen in the case in which he is accused of participating in a terrorist group and inciting to demonstrate in protest against the increase in the prices of metro tickets

 

  • The Supreme State Security Prosecution is conducting investigations with Dr. Gamal Abdel Fattah, Hassan Hosni and Ahmed Manna’ in the case in which they are accused of establishing and joining a group established contrary to the provisions of the law and publishing false news and statements.

 

Issued Decisions:

 

  • South Cairo Criminal Court decided to reject the prosecution’s appeal on the release of journalists Hamdi al-Zaim and Muhammad Hassan with precautionary measures in the case known in the media as “The Hijab report” case.

 

  • South Cairo Criminal Court decided to postpone the re-trial of Ahmed Douma in the case known as the “Cabinet of Ministers Incidents” case to the 20 June hearing to continue the hearing of witnesses. The Court of Cassation ruled in October to overturn the life imprisonment sentence and ordered his retrial.

  • Cairo Court of Urgent Matters decided that the Court of Cassation had no jurisdiction over a claim demanding revoking the licenses and permits of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) office and all its agencies, revoking the licenses of all its employees and blocking its website inside Egypt.
