– Trial of the defendants of the tambourine detainees case postponed

Aswan State Security Emergency Misdemeanors Court decided to postpone the trial of the defendants in the case known in the media as the tambourine detainees case to the May 20 hearing for submitting the final memorandums and the defense pleading.

– Appeal of the defendants in the “Maspero II incidents” case rejected

The Court of Cassation in the High Court rejected the appeal of 8 defendants against the rulings issued in the case of violence incidents in the vicinity of the radio and television building in July 2013, known as “Maspero II incidents” following the ousting of former President Mohamed Morsi, and upheld the sentences of the Criminal Court on charges of belonging to a terrorist group.

– Appeal of the defendants in the “Fayoum Special Committees” case accepted

The Court of Cassation in the High Court accepted the appeal filed by the defendants against placing their names on terrorism lists in the case known in the media as the “Fayoum Special Committees” and ordered their re-trial before a different court.

– Appeal submitted by the defendants in “Osim cell” case rejected

The Court of Cassation, convened at the High Court of Justice, rejected the appeals filed by the defendants against the death sentences and life imprisonment in the case known in the media as the “Osim Terrorist Cell” case.

– Appeal of the State against raising the infection allowance to doctors postponed

The Supreme State Council Administrative Court postponed the appeal filed by the State Court on the ruling of the Administrative Court to raise the infection allowance to doctors for the May 6 hearing.

– Lawsuit to oblige the Ministry of Social Solidarity to provide insurance for the self-employed postponed

The State Council Administrative Court decided to  postpone the appeal to oblige the Ministry of Social Solidarity to provide insurance for the self-employed for the May 6 hearing.

– The Parliament approves extending the state of emergency for 3 months

The Parliament, in its general session today under the chairmanship of Ali Abdel-Al, announced its approval of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi’s decree No. 168 of 2018 concerning the extension of the state of emergency for three months throughout the country.

– The Parliament the National Council for Women law

The Parliament, in its plenary session today, chaired by Ali Abdel-Al, approved the draft law on the issuance of the National Council for Women, following a vote by the members.
