The protest march called for revoking the chapters 489 & 490 of Moroccan Criminal Law. After the protest march ended, Lachgar along with two journalists were surprised that some security agents asking them to get into the police car without identifying the causes. Moreover, their cell phones were seized to make sure that there are no images for the protest. Then, they restored their cell phones.

“Obstructing activist “Ibtissam Lachgar together with two journalists is a violation to the freedom of peaceful protesting and the press freedom as well,” ANHRI said.

ANHRI demands the Moroccan authorities to cease harassing the peaceful protest marches as well as targeting activists. As such, the attempts to undermine the opposition movements should be stopped.
